Who we are
VI Weekly, or Vancouver Island Weekly, was founded in 2016 as a local Mandarin news media.
We published local directories, newspapers, magazines, and online products, bringing considerable benefits and value to both our advertisers and the readers.
We have now become mostly digital and a 'hybrid' business offering local news products and community services to our readers/consumers while at the same time providing community/marketing/consultancy services to local businesses or advertisers.

Why do I need to market specifically to this community?
Statistics Canada's 2016 census shows that there are approximately 20,000 Mandarin-speaking Chinese Canadians on Vancouver Island, mainly in Victoria and Nanaimo. However, many Chinese real-estate agents believe that the total Chinese population has in fact reached well over 50,000 when including students and those who live on the Island seasonally as tourists.
